This assembly is available with Slimline Agrihubs (fully sealed, zero maintenance).  Assembly – Rear Mount Assemblies are a popular method of adding a rear mounted swivel press wheel capability to either a new or an existing bar with wide spacings (15 inch and greater). The popularity of these units is due to the independent nature of each assembly, strength to weight ratio, simplicity of design and ease of maintenance. The single swivel arm design ensures that the unit is capable of clearing most obstacles and that a very even pressure is maintained across the width of the machine. Generally 15 inch or 16 inch inch wheel sizes are used with this assembly (18″ can also be fitted if resired) and a large number of tyre options is available to suit. A range of other accessories are available to augment performance in some marginal conditions. A low tool bar will require to be fitted to the rear of the machine to mount these press wheels.  A range of other accessories are available to augment performance in some marginal conditions.

The Heavy Duty Single Rear Mount Assemblies have all parts fully cast with side ribs to reduce bending and the vertical swivel yoke is also cast to prevent breakages.  The pivots are all 20mm.

A range of toolbar accessories are also available to assist with fitting a false toolbar if required.

This assembly is designed to be mounted to a 75mm frame (Ubolts provided).  The frame height will depend on which wheel size is being fitted, however a new sub frame/toolbar will require to be fitted behind the last row of tynes.

These assemblies can also be done with greaseable integral hubs.   They are also available in either Ford or Holden Lazy Hubs if required. Although all 3 of these older style wheel hubs is becoming increasingly uncommon.

Note all tyre and wheel sizes are nominal and when determining tyre and wheel size we use the outside diameter of the tyre, so a 15″ Manutec Press Wheel with a tyre fitted has an overall diameter of 15″.  This diameter varies slightly across the range depending on the shape of the tyre.

So what should you be wary of ?

1. When you are buying equipment from overseas, consider how that machine is going to be supported when you have breakdowns and the time delay in getting parts and the cost of those parts.
2. The above also applies to some “fly by night” local companies.  Are they going to be able to deliver in the first place and will they be around when you need parts ?  Will they answer your phone when you need them ?
3. Beware of manufacturers both local and overseas that have a one fit suits all approach to designing farm equipment.  Australian farms are very different from East to West and from North to South and very different to North American and European farms.
4. Beware of Australian manufacturers that use componentry from overseas that could be sourced in Australia.  There is a good chance those components will not be available when you need them and that the cost will be high.
