This assembly is fitted with integral hubs (fully greasable and maintainable).  There are other options available that are fitted with Agrihubs (fully sealed, zero maintenance).  There are two models of Agrihub available and our staff will discuss the options available.  Walking Wheels can also be done with either Ford or Holden Lazy Hubs if required, although this is a very uncommon version.

All integral hub press wheels are now fitted with our new Heavy Duty Agricultural seal (released mid 2018).  This seal is the result of many years of research and we are confident that it is the best wheel seal available in terms of its ability to exclude dust.  Existing customers can also utilise this seal on wheels less than ten years old.

The Assembly – Twin Walking Wheels are a very popular method of adding a press wheel capability to either a new or an existing bar. The popularity of these units is due to there cost effectiveness, strength to weight ratio, simplicity of design, ease of maintenance and the fact that the design has been tested, proven and improved for over 20 years. The walking beam design ensures that the unit is capable of clearing most obstacles without damage and whilst maintaining a relatively even pressure on the paired wheel. The twins are capable of being configured as standard for between 6 inch and 13 inch row spacings. On request these spacings can be extended out beyond 13 inches and inside 6 inches. All units come standard configured as a swivel or following unit, if no swivel is desirable then a simple kit is applied to lock out the swivel. This ensures that the unit can be easily reconfigured as a swivel unit at a later date. The units can be configured for low pressure (15kg) or high pressure (40kg), however most units are run at an average pressure of between 20 and 25kg. A choice of 15, 16 or 18 inch wheel sizes is available with a large number of tyre options. Units come standard with Integral Hub Press Wheels fitted with greasable LM Tapered Bearings and heavy duty seal. Zero maintenance Agrihubs are an option as are Cast Holden or Ford hubs. A range of other accessories are available to augment performance in some marginal conditions.

The new model walking wheels have a fully cast walking beam with side ribs to reduce bending and the vertical swivel yoke is also cast to prevent breakages.

A range of toolbar accessories are also available to assist with fitting a false toolbar if required.

The Tyre fitted to this assembly is an 18 inch 80mm wide mid range wedge semi-pneumatic tyre. This tyre is a medium pressure tyre suited to wet and sticky conditions. Tyre will give good average results across a range of soil and climatic conditions. Tyre is good for moisture seeking and seed pressing in most conditions. Tyre has a tendency to leave paddocks rough, which is a necessity of the moisture channelling. This tyre is well suited to most seeding methods, points and boots. Not recommended in very rough or very abrasive soils (see semi solid or solid variants of this tyre)
